Maker Art PANDEMIA
Maker Art is an exhibition where ‘new media art’ projects are presented as if in a beta stage, probably in search of a business angel to make them true. Maker Art 2020 will be 100% online, addressing Pandemia as an inspirational leitmotiv.
The new coronavirus has brought us to a sudden and extreme dependence on virtual worlds. Social distance induced by our growing reliance on the technosphere is not entirely new, but the new half-living creature (2019-nCoV) housed us in a kind of a planetary concentration camp. Will this global event induce metamorphosis of the human space. If so, what about future art?
MAKER ART is not only an exhibition of freshly squeezed new-media artworks but also the right spot for cross-fertilization processes.

A bolsa de valores tem precedência sobre a saúde pública, uma vez que os políticos exortam a população a voltar ao trabalho de defesa dos painéis de morte para o culto do mercado.

SAM HEYDT (Estados Unidos da América, 1986), trabalha com diferentes tipos de media – filme, vídeo, instalação, fotografia, escultura, som e texto. A obra de Heydt apresenta uma proposta abstrata para um mundo na periferia da história, que não parece apenas assombrado pelos fantasmas do passado, mas também construído num mundo assombrado.
Sam Heydt, é um artista americana de prática social e meios de comunicação reciclados da cidade de Nova Iorque. Apesar de residir actualmente em Viena, Heydt viveu/trabalhou em Paris, Veneza, Amesterdão, Atenas, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Reykjavik e Rajasthan.
É licenciada em belas artes pela Parsons School of Design, bem como em estudos de comunicação social pela The New School, Cooper Union, e Universidade de Amesterdão e, por último, em linguística pela Universidade de Buenos Aires e La Sorbonne.
Depois de completar os seus estudos, lançou Jane Street Studio, L.L.C. em Manhattan. Desde a sua fundação, a empresa expandiu-se para prestar consultoria de design e marketing, para além de fotografia e direcção de arte. Os seus clientes estendem-se pela Europa, América do Norte e do Sul, Ásia e Oceânia. Assegurando este empreendimento empresarial, Heydt passou a frequentar residências artísticas na Islândia, Austrália e Nova Zelândia; onde começou a documentar a exploração do mundo natural.
Autora publicada, produtora e activista ambiental e social ao longo da vida, Heydt realizou uma série de trabalhos altruísticos, sem fins lucrativos – sendo o mais recente em Rajasthan, Índia, onde ajudou a produzir um documentário de longa-metragem sobre prostituição infantil. Ela também é voluntária no ensino de refugiados na Europa. Ancorada na defesa social, a sua arte tenta dar voz aos velados, aos esquecidos, aos exilados, aos condenados e aos silenciados.
A visão de Heydt olha para além do normal. Na sua prática, ela trabalha num espectro de diferentes meios – filme, vídeo, instalação, fotografia, escultura, som, merchandising, texto – e emprega uma gama de materiais que muitas vezes reinventam ou invadem a sua utilização associativa. Sam Heydt, (born April 20, 1986) is an American social practice and recycled media artist from New York City. Although currently residing in Vienna, Heydt has lived/worked in Paris, Venice, Amsterdam, Athens, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Reykjavik and Rajasthan. She has a degree in fine arts from Parsons School of Design, as well as a degree in media studies from The New School, Cooper Union, and University of Amsterdam and lastly in linguistics from University of Buenos Aires and La Sorbonne. After completing her studies, she launched Jane Street Studio, L.L.C. in Manhattan. Since established, the company has expanded to provide both design and marketing consultation in addition to photography and art direction. Its growing rooster of clients spans Europe, North & South America, Asia and Oceania. Ensuing this entrepreneurial undertaking, Heydt went on to attend artist residencies in Iceland, Australia and New Zealand; where she began documenting the exploitation of the natural world. A published author, producer and livelong environmental and social activist, Heydt has undertaken a range of altruistic, non-profit work – the most recent being in Rajasthan, India, where she helped produce a feature-length documentary on child prostitution. She also volunteers teaching refugees in Europe. Anchored in social advocacy, her art attempts to give a voice to the veiled, the forgotten, the exiled, the condemned and the silenced.
Heydt’s vision looks beyond the ordinary. In her practice, she works across a spectrum of different media – film, video, installation, photography, sculpture, sound, merchandize, text – and employs a range of materials often reinventing or trespassing their associative use.
