In February 2025, the Raseiniai Municipality hosted a remarkable photography and photo collage exhibition, bringing together the works of two extraordinary artists. The exhibition featured Samantha Heydt’s striking photo collages from her Edge of Chaos series, which explored themes of societal fragmentation and environmental decline, alongside Rūta Račiūnaitė-Simėnienė’s evocative Red–Black photo series, reflecting her unique artistic vision.
Both artists, who had previously participated in major cultural projects in Raseiniai, offered a profound commentary on the chaotic forces shaping the modern world. This long-awaited exhibition, postponed due to the pandemic, became a powerful reminder of art's ability to inspire and provoke thought in uncertain times.

Founded in 2005 by Helen Marriage and Nicky Webb, the company’s aim is to work with artists to create unique, large-scale experiences that appeal to the widest possible audience. We don’t believe the arts should take place only behind the closed doors of theatres, concert halls or galleries. Instead, you will find us working in the street, public squares, along the coast or in the countryside.
From London to Liverpool, Durham and Derry~Londonderry, we have transformed places across the UK. Bringing communities together through our learning and participation work, we leave a legacy of skills and newfound potential behind.

For the next month, 11 artists have their work exhibited in a ‘gallery without walls’ – that is, on billboards and digital screens around the UK – with the aim of provoking public debate and saying something about the issues of our time. This year’s submissions were on the theme of ‘the state we’re in’ and address disability, housing, the pandemic, mental health, refugees, capitalism and Boris Johnson’s birthday cake
This gallery was produced as part of a media partnership between the Guardian and Artichoke, reflecting the Guardian’s support for arts and culture initiatives
