Augmented Ontologies | HEYDT’s multimedia praxis mobilizes techniques of disruption and reiteration to challenge stabilizing frameworks by generating augmented realities that destabilize representations. Filtered through postmodern, glitch and parodic lenses, Heydt uses virtual augmentation to denaturalize norms and imagine new subjectivities in gallery spaces through digital refashioning of the real.By mapping augmented layers onto physical environments through an AR interface, Heydt merges real and virtual experiences in novel spatial configurations. Interested in AR's potential, Heydt overlays ephemeral transformations onto backdrops to provoke contemplating experience's permeable constitution across physical and virtual strata.
