System of Objects is a multifaceted series that draws on portrait fragments from various sources, layering and combining them with hand-painted details to create striking figurative amalgams. Art is in a state of perpetual becoming, constantly evolving and shifting its position with respect to reality. The works explore the artificial dichotomies between abstraction and representation, featuring minimalist shapes, semi-symmetric patterns, and bright colors that function like fragments of an unintelligible code. By reproducing artworks used as TV props and blurring them into abstraction, I explore the ideas of copy and original, archaeological artifacts, and collective modes of making to examine how artworks accrue visibility, meaning, and value.
